Mentoring

Course Information

The course is run in an informal learning environment, to encourage peer support and group interaction.You will maintain a reflective learning journal which will document your progress, along with tutorial support from your tutor.You will participate in group activities and explore case studies to develop your skills and knowledge of the mentoring process.

Course Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, but you need to have a good standard of written and oral English.You should also enjoy interacting with others and have an interest in supporting people.

What Will I Learn?

The course focuses on the following objectives:
communication skills,policies and procedures,role of a mentor and boundaries,effective mentoring relationships and your own personal skills development.

Assessment and Accreditation

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. The course is accredited by the Open College Network ( North East Region ) and is a Level 2 qualification.

What Should I Bring?

You will need pen,paper and a file.
