Congratulations to Owen Wright who has been shortlisted for Signature learner of the year!

Owen is a learner with Middlesbrough Adult Education Service and has completed a Level 1 and Level 2 course in British Sign Language, the language of Britain’s Deaf community.   I was so impressed with his enthusiasm, determination and hard work on the courses that I nominated him for a Learner of the Year Award from Signature.  Signature champions excellence in communication with deaf people and the awards are designed to recognise those who have made in their own way a significant contribution towards achieving a society in which deaf people have full access.

Signature Chief  Executive, Jim Edwards, said:

‘These individuals are truly remarkable and have clearly made a huge impression on the people who nominated them. It will be hard to pick winners as they deserve so much credit.’
